December-Vibes-Poetry Contest

Ah. Hey! So I was nominated for this by Khushi and Kunjal aka the Duo Disseminators who are also the creators. Either way, I looked at this and I immediately knew it would be fun. So it said there can be up to two entries so I am making two cause there are so many diff things about December, so many diff ways to look at it. Cold and sad, happy and cheerful, so many. Also mysterious, but I couldn’t portray that in a poem, even though I tried.

One: Warmth Of Love

Cold air dances and leaps around,
Snowflakes place themselves on the ground,
Smiles fill the air with joy and glee,
The warmth of love swims free,
The cold whispers and so does the frost,
But within the smiles, it’s lost.
Trees, green and happy, fill the whole place,
The greenery dancing around with grace,
Happiness leaps about, hiding everywhere,
The scent of cinnamon and ginger filling the air.
The cold shivers, colder than ever,
People cough and catch sickly fevers.
But the cold melts away by the warmth of love,
As happiness dances around like a wild dove.
And however cold it might be,
The smiles murder the frost as they dance free!

Two: What do you see?

An icy cold, gloomy and forlorn night,
That lacks happiness and light.
Or a shining and glamourous morning,
Where the joy creeps up without warning?
What is December to you?
Is it a yellow glee or a sadness, blue?
Does the cold creep up sneakily,
Are your eyes droopy and tears a sea?
Or are you dancing in the Christmas lights,
Having parties and enjoying the nights?
Is December full of happiness, love and glee?
Or is it full of sadness and curse that nobody sees?
It all matters on how you look at it,
Do you see the starry lights, how the place is lit,
Or do you see the cold gloominess there might be?
The only thing that matters, is what you see!

That’s all! I changed my mind on not putting what do you see for the contest, lol! Anyways. Nominations…

Wintry Smiles

Hey people. Here we have another poem. K. Not much to say so um, read the poem!

A dark whisper mystic and cold,
Dances through the frosty mold,
The air stares through the frost,
Within the cold it’s lost,
The days are much shorter,
Winter is a mystic blur,
People cough in the darkness,
Covered in full sleeve dresses,
Dogs shiver out on the street,
Wishing for a warm sheet,
But through all the sadness,
Through all the frosty madness,
People smile with glee,
Happier than anyone could be,
The smiles spread warm with love,
As people sit in jackets and gloves.
And slowly the cold disappears,
And people share the wintry cheer!

What do you see?

Hey people! Soo I was writing this for the December-Vibes-Poetry Contest, but I came up with something else for that and wanted to work on it more. Either way, this was literally inspired by a sentence Khushi/Kunjal had…Is December happy starry like Christmas or snowy and a gloomy reign?
So literally out of that…

Btw, doesn’t even snow where I live. *laugh. laugh*

Smiles

Hello. Short poem. I know it’s a little boring compared to my other poems, but it is simple, short and I wanted to post something! Either way, I have more poems coming up soon! For now, read this!

Ice cold nights,
Shining lights,
Freezing days,
Wind blowing away,
Christmas spirit,
Everything lit,
Colors red and green,
Like you’ve never seen,
Nobody has a frown,
Or feels down,
Smiles fill the place, each inch,
Like a maze of happiness.

Rain in December?

I know, several people have already made posts about this. Eva, Gelina…
Well I am as well. So deal with it.
Hello people! Rain in December. Pretty strange, eh? Well. I personally love rain. I’m the kind of person who dances in a storm. Heheh.
I’m also the kind of kid who picks up snails and frogs and says hi to random street dogs and cats. Anyway, I thought of what I could do. I was going to write a poem, but the words weren’t coming out right. I thought of taking pictures, but nah, that’s what everyone else did. So I’m writing a short random story-ish thing, I just put myself into it.

Rays of sunlight hit my body as the sun rose into the morning. I woke up with a jerk. It was only 6. I yawned and tried to go back to sleep, but for some reason I didn’t work like that. Once I had woken up, there was no going back to sleep.
I yawned again and got up, opening the curtains in my room. There was a thick mist outside. I couldn’t see anything out of my balcony, just white. I went into the balcony, leaning down. I could barely see a few trees and a car parked outside, but I could. I yawned yet again and went into the living room. “Achoooo. Achoo.” I went sneezing like anything. People kept saying I sneezed like a kitten or a mouse. Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t, who knows?
As I sat down, I heard soft droplets. “Pitter, patter, pitter, patter,” they hit the glass window making small, lovely splashes.
“Rain?” I said, not knowing I had spoken aloud. “In December?” I asked myself, baffled. It never snowed where I lived. It did rain, but not in December!
Out of the corner of my ear I heard a light whimper. I wasn’t surprised by it, it was just my dog. Whenever she was upset she would whine, sad she would whine, in pain she would whine, happy she would also whine.
“Aw. Hey J. Hi! Yeah, I’m awake.” I said as she jumped onto the couch and sat with me. “Yeah J!” I said as she nuzzled my hand begging for pets.
I wondered whether she had been out for her morning walk as yet. I decided that I would take her. As I clipped on her leash, grabbed a poo bag and walked outside, I could feel the gentle rain drops hitting my skin. She could too, but she wasn’t bothered. I went back inside and grabbed a jacket, it was pretty chilly outside. As J played, I danced in the rain, happily.

See how I added rain drops to match the post? Heheh…
